Late arrivals may be asked to observe only if participation may compromise safety or disrupt the class.
Persistent absenteeism or lateness may affect eligibility for examinations, performances, or competitions.
6. Dress Code
Students must wear appropriate dance attire as prescribed for their discipline.
Hair must be neatly secured. Jewellery is not permitted unless expressly approved.
Proper footwear is compulsory for safety reasons.
7. Health, Safety & Risk
Dance is a physical activity and carries inherent risks. Participation is voluntary and undertaken with awareness of these risks.
Parents/Guardians must disclose any relevant medical conditions, injuries, allergies, or special needs.
The Studio will take reasonable steps to provide a safe environment but is not liable for injuries unless caused by proven gross negligence or unlawful conduct.
In the event of an emergency, the Parent/Guardian authorises the Studio to seek necessary medical treatment if they cannot be contacted.
Certain disciplines, including Acrobatics and Tumbling, carry a higher inherent risk than traditional dance styles, and participation in such disciplines requires strict adherence to safety instructions and instructor guidance.
7A. Discipline-Specific Risk Acknowledgement
The Parent/Guardian acknowledges that different dance disciplines carry varying levels of physical demand and inherent risk, including but not limited to muscle strain, sprains, falls, impact injuries, and fatigue.
Acrobatics & Tumbling involve elevated physical risk due to inversions, weight-bearing on the upper body, aerial or ground-based skills, and the possibility of falls or improper landings, even when appropriate instruction and supervision are provided.
Ballet, Modern, Jazz & Contemporary may involve repetitive movements, jumps, turns, floor work, extension techniques, and load-bearing movements that may result in overuse or strain-related injuries.
Body Conditioning classes may include strength, flexibility, endurance, and core-training exercises and may result in muscle soreness, fatigue, or delayed onset muscle discomfort.
The Parent/Guardian acknowledges that no physical activity can be entirely risk-free.
7B. Age-Appropriate Participation & Progression
All Students are placed into classes and permitted to perform skills based on age, physical development, emotional maturity, skill level, and instructor assessment.
The Studio does not permit Students to attempt advanced or high-risk movements, including but not limited to aerials, walkovers, handsprings, flips, or partner lifts, unless the Student has demonstrated adequate strength, control, and readiness as determined by the instructor.
The Parent/Guardian acknowledges that progression rates vary and that advancement is not guaranteed and will never be rushed for performance, examination, or competition purposes.
The Studio reserves the right to restrict, modify, or prohibit a Student’s participation in specific movements or disciplines where safety concerns, medical considerations, or behavioural issues arise.
8. Behaviour & Code of Conduct
Respectful behaviour is mandatory. Bullying, harassment, or discrimination will not be tolerated.
The Studio may suspend or terminate enrollment for serious or repeated misconduct.
9. Parents & Guardians
Parents/Guardians are not permitted inside classes unless invited.
Supervision before and after class remains the responsibility of the Parent/Guardian.
